Kathie Davis

Kathie Davis is the co-founder of IDEA Health and Fitness Association and American Council on Exercise (ACE). Upon graduation from SDSU with her degree in Physical Education, she embarked on a journey to pursue her passion and dedicate her life’s work to promoting healthy lifestyles. Together with her husband Peter Davis, Kathie co-founded IDEA in 1982 and ACE in 1985.

Steve Bierman, MD

Steve Bierman, M.D., received his undergraduate degree at UCLA and his M.D. at Northwestern University School of Medicine. After completing his Family Practice residency at UCSD, he worked nearly 20 years as a board-certified Emergency Physician at Scripps Memorial Hospital in Encinitas California. Dr. Bierman’s new book, Beyond Pills & is scheduled for publication later this year.

Patti T. Milligan, PhD, RD, CNS, has been in the nutrition field for 39 years. She recently completed her Doctorate in Neuroscience of Taste, and her thesis on Saliva and Its Impact on Jet Lag, as well as exploring the “why” of what we like in taste. She brings a unique blend of clinical, educational, holistic, and consumer experience. Dr. Milligan is the Author of a children’s nutrition story and gardening journal titled, “Why is Shirley Unusual?”

Joseph Weiss, MD

Joseph B. Weiss, M.D., is a Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Gastroenterology, Department of Medicine, at the University of California, San Diego. Accepted to university at age fifteen he attended the University of Michigan, University of Detroit, and Wayne State University. Dr. Weiss has over thirty years of clinical, administrative, and research experience. He is the author of more than two dozen books on health and wellbeing.

Theater as a Stimulant to Keep you Alive

David Ellenstein

David Ellenstein, Artistic Director, North Coast Repertory Theatre, was born into a theatrical family and has worked in theaters across the country. Before joining North Coast Rep in 2003 he served as Artistic Director for the Los Angeles Repertory Company and the Arizona Jewish Theatre Company (AJTC). He is a veteran of over 250 theatrical productions including over 100 productions at North Coast Rep. David won the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle Award for “2018 Director of the Year Award.”

Richard Lederer, PhD, is the author of more than 50 books about language, history, and humor, including his best-selling Anguished English series and his current books, Amazing Words, Lederer on Language, and The Joy of Names. Dr. Lederer’s syndicated column, “Lederer on Language,” appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States, including the San Diego Union-Tribune, and he is a founding co-host of “A Way With Words” on KPBS Public Radio.

Rosemarie Rohatgi, DMD, is triple boarded in Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM) as a Diplomate of the ABDSM, ASBA and ABCDSM. Dr. Rohatgi was featured on the cover of the reputable magazine, Sleep Review, in 2018. She has authored several research papers in the Journal of Dental Sleep Medicine (JDSM).
